Jon Cook
Business Technology Advisor/CIO
Jon graduated from Horsted Technical College and a 5 year Electro-Mechanical Apprenticeship with Marconi Avionics located in Kent, England in 1980. In 1981 Jon immigrated to Toronto, Canada for a design position with Spar Aerospace working on the Canada Space Arm and the Ontario Hydro Nuclear Reactor Re-Tubing Project. He relocated to Bristol Aerospace, Winnipeg in 1984 where he spent 10 years in Engineering and providing primary support for CAD/CAM/CAE for over 70 users. This was followed by 20 years at MacDon Industries initially in the Engineering Department implementing Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing System before be asked to lead the newly created Information Technology department in January 2003 as the Director of IT. In February 2015 Jon headed west to join the Brandt Group of Companies as their CIO. He is sharing his technology leadership know-how as an Executive Digital Advisor with ourCIO, an IT advisory, strategy, and leadership firm founded in early 2020. Prior, Jon grew his skills over the course of his career in multiple areas of Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology. Jon has worked in Aerospace, Agricultural, and Construction Equipment Manufacturing. Jon is recognized as a progressive technology leader and forward thinker.
